False ceiling design, planned around your room and lighting
Cove, tray or POP ceilings — layouts planned around your room height, beam positions and lighting needs, designed and installed in-house by a single team.
False ceilings designed for how your room actually feels
A false ceiling is built from gypsum boards or POP over a metal frame, suspended below the original ceiling to hide wiring, ducting and beams while creating a level surface for lighting. That means cleaner light distribution, hidden services and a finished look compared to a bare slab ceiling.
At The Kitchen Interior, every false ceiling starts with a site visit — we measure your room height, check beam and duct positions, and map out a lighting layout before a single frame is fixed. Design, fabrication and installation are handled by our own in-house team, so there's no handoff between a designer and a separate contractor, and no subcontracted labour.
Which false ceiling style fits your room?
The right style depends on your room height, beam positions and the mood you want to create. Here's a quick guide to the styles we design most often across Delhi NCR homes.
Cove Ceiling
A recessed channel along the ceiling edge holds a continuous LED strip, throwing indirect light upward for a soft ambient glow.
Tray Ceiling
A stepped, multi-level ceiling that adds depth and can hide a central AC duct or beam within its layers.
POP Punning Ceiling
A single-level plaster of paris ceiling with simple moulding detail — the most economical way to hide wiring and get a flat finish.
Grid (Armstrong) Ceiling
Modular tiles set into a metal grid, easy to access for wiring or AC maintenance without breaking the ceiling.
Floating Ceiling
A ceiling panel with a gap along the walls, backlit to create a "floating" illusion above the room.
Wooden/PVC Panel Ceiling
Panelled strips run across the ceiling for a warmer, textured look, often paired with cove lighting.
Materials we work with
Every material is chosen for a different mix of budget, durability and finish. We'll walk you through samples of each during your design consultation.
Gypsum Board
Lightweight, fire-resistant boards that give a smooth, paintable finish and are easy to repair if damaged.
POP (Plaster of Paris)
A traditional plastered finish that allows intricate moulding and cove detailing at a lower material cost.
PVC Panels
Moisture-resistant and low-maintenance, a common choice for kitchens, balconies and bathrooms.
Wooden/MDF Panels
Adds warmth and texture as an accent, usually combined with gypsum or POP in the same ceiling.
What's behind the board matters as much as the finish
A false ceiling is only as good as the frame behind the board. We use corrosion-resistant GI channels and branded fasteners, so the ceiling stays level and crack-free for years.
What affects false ceiling cost
Every false ceiling is quoted after a site visit, but these are the main factors that move the price up or down.
Ceiling area and design type
A simple POP ceiling covering the full room costs less per sq ft than a multi-level tray or floating design with intricate detailing.
Material choice
Gypsum sits at the mid-range, PVC is economical for wet areas, and wood/MDF panelling adds to the budget as an accent.
Lighting layout
Cove lighting, spotlights and backlit panels add both material and electrical labour cost on top of the base ceiling.
Site conditions
Low ceiling height, existing ducting or beam positions can affect design options and add to installation time.
